{"id":115,"date":"2024-05-13T10:41:19","date_gmt":"2024-05-13T10:41:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/193.144.52.105:8100\/?page_id=115"},"modified":"2026-06-25T07:47:33","modified_gmt":"2026-06-25T07:47:33","slug":"lagrange-award-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.iftomm-multibody.org\/index.php\/lagrange-award-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Lagrange Award 2"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-348cba7f wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;padding-right:0;padding-left:0\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-58f1e44a wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.67%\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Lagrange Award &#8211; Multibody System Dynamics Outstanding PhD Thesis Prize<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<strong>Lagrange Award<\/strong>&nbsp;was established in 2017 by the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/iftomm-world.org\/committees\/technical-committee-for-multibody-dynamics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>IFToMM Technical Committee for Multibody Dynamics<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.springer.com\/gp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Springer<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;with the aim of recognizing the outstanding achievements of a young researcher (under 35 years old) at the early stage of their scientific career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Lagrange Award is presented annually by the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/iftomm-world.org\/committees\/technical-committee-for-multibody-dynamics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>IFToMM Technical Committee for Multibody Dynamics<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;and Springer&#8217;s journal&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.springer.com\/journal\/11044\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Multibody System Dynamics<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;to recognize&nbsp;<strong>the most successful PhD thesis on Multibody Dynamics<\/strong>&nbsp;over the prior year as judged by the evaluation committee. The winner will receive a certificate, a one-year subscription to&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.springer.com\/journal\/11044\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Multibody System Dynamics<\/a><\/strong>, and Springer books to the value of \u20ac 250. The decision will be announced during a Multibody Dynamics conference supported by IFToMM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Award Committee is composed by four members, namely the coordinator and three senior researchers in the field (proposed by the award coordinator and approved by the IFToMM TC for Multibody Dynamics).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Applications<\/strong> (2026 edition)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The call for applications of the 2026 will open around December 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every researcher who has presented a PhD thesis related to the Multibody Dynamics field and got it approved at a University or Research Organization during 2026 qualifies for the award and can submit an application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The applications must be sent by e-mail to the Award coordinator, Dr. Pascal Ziegler (<a href=\"mailto:pascal.ziegler@itm.uni-stuttgart.de\">pascal.ziegler@itm.uni-stuttgart.de<\/a>). Applicants must include 1) a copy of their PhD thesis (in English), 2) a curriculum vitae, and 3) a maximum of three publications related to the thesis content.
